Most Korean dramas have thirty second promos for their episodes but that's usually not the case for Japanese shows and wonder why though 'Video Girl Ai' had those promos. Brought that up because I had checked and couldn't find any for this series. Still in the midst of this mini recap marathon, one more episode to go after this one and this series is getting better as this and the next show may have been the best two to date.
At the conclusion of the previous show the girls finally learned the title of the unknown song that gets played over the loudspeakers when zombies appear. For some reason zombies try to dance to the music and when that happens they become defenseless. Their oddball teacher Nabeshima had told them the title was "Moon Moon Lalu" and that was a song none of the students had heard of.
The song may hold some clues about the zombies, either how to kill them all off or perhaps a hiding place in the world the students could escape to. They began going through all of the school's CD's without any luck as it must have been a very obscure song. After last episode's trial the girls are starting to have second thoughts about Momoka being a zombie in disguise as a human.
By agreement they felt releasing her wouldn't cause any harm if they kept tabs on her but as you can see in the above screenshot Momoka's cell door was open. And in that cell was no Momoka, could she have been kidnapped or did she escape on her own? Without a clue the girls begin searching the school for her and eventually they did find her.
Locked up in a storeroom was Momoka and one of the two little boys hiding out at the school. This was one odd and extremely long scene which took up about 2/3 of the 22 minute episode. It was the VP(vice-principal) who had tied up the pair but he wasn't a zombie. Instead it was his wife and daughter and with that fact Momoka is cleared of being a zombie.
So many girls thought she was the cause of students disappearing but that wasn't the case. It had been the VP taking the girls and.... feeding them to his wife and daughter!!!! No gore in this show but there is some in the next episode. The VP had thought feeding his family humans would stave off their deterioration, it wasn't proven yes or no but wouldn't think that would keep a zombie 'alive'. Before they were turned into zombies the VP's wife and daughter had been in a serious car accident which he felt so guilty about because he had been working at the high school.
As mentioned it was a good scene though a tad too long as the VP rambled on and on about his family and how he would do anything to save them. After a while the girls had enough of his blabbering and finally convinced the VP it was too late to return his wife and daughter to humans and he finally agreed. It was hard for him to watch but he gave the okay for them to be killed, Maiko and Mutsumi got their revenge for the two zombies eating their human friends.
That situation is cleared up though the zombie epidemic continues. Above we see the father of the two children taking his leave from the school, he has no destination in mind but feels they'll be safer elsewhere. However he had taped the "Moon Moon Lalu" song when it had been playing and gave it to the students for safety.
A celebration was held because of that and for the fact that Momoka wasn't a zombie, she still wasn't too liked though Maiko and Mutsumi are trying to become her friends. The party was a fun evening for the girls but the next day was anything but that. Early that next morning Maiko arose early due to some strange sounds. Investigating what they were she discovered the zombies had crashed through their defenses and are overrunning the school.
Quickly the girls grab a few possessions and try to head for the exits. Wasn't an easy task as the zombies appear to be stronger than ever and the girls really struggle to get out. No official total but think there's about twelve students left along with two teachers. The girls get split up, five manage to make it outside of the school while for now we don't know what happened to the others.
On their way out Maiko and Mutsumi run into their teacher Nabeshima and plead for him to come with them. He refuses as he tells them he's staying behind with the other teacher Terakawa, it appears she may have found some clues in the song on how to survive. With that the episode comes to it's end with five girls fleeing from the school.
Did leave out one major development which I'll tell you at the beginning of the next recap which is right below this post. This was the best show to date but that didn't last for ling as episode eight topped this one and that recap will end off this mini marathon,
