Welcome to my humble site....

Hajimemashite minna san....welcome to my site on my fave Japanese Pop Culture likes such as dramas, movies, magazine scans, promo events etc. Mainly concentrate on my faves...Risa Watanabe... Kyoko Saito... Yui Kobayashi....Nana Owada.... Nene Shida.... if you're a fan at all of any of them then you've come to the right place(!) but many others are featured here besides them. Do mainly quick reviews on things I've watched, try to make the reviews brief, quick to read through with not too many spoilers, just whether they're good or bad and why I thought so plus whether you may find them enjoyable. Many, many screenshots are included from everything I've watched plus any video trailers if they're available. Hope you find something that interests you, don't hesitate to comment, arigato gozaimasu!

Haru: A slightly early 'Happy 30th Birthday' plus in a way her first intro post....

Mentioned in two posts last week was there a monthly trend going on? Seems since December every other month is a busy one for my faves while the next is quite slow. May not seem that way but June would be one of those slow months but have been able to weather the storm though mainly because of drama recaps. However don't think this post is just because there isn't much else to post about, that actually helps at certain times as there's some semi-faves I finally get a chance to post about.

The only reason Haru isn't more than a semi-fave is that she's one of the most difficult women to have posts for. She doesn't entirely shun the spotlight but there has been such a lack of mag spreads and events over the years. So have only done one prior post in this vein and that was way back in 2016! Haru to me is one of the top actresses around and have recapped two of her series. Would like to have more but think that could only happen if days suddenly had thirty hours in them! Bit early with the Happy Birthday as it doesn't take place until June 17th but as mentioned a post for her is such a rarity.

Haru is such a conservative gal and those are the kinds I kind of prefer if you notice the yearly fave's lists. So if she did have many posts over the years wonder if she would have been popular as it seems not enough gals who don't do gravure spreads are popular here. On to things and as I said have recapped two her dramas though have seen her in more than that. The first was "ON" from 2016 which was a show I really got into. Haru played an odd rookie police detective named Hinako, highly recommend the series and the posts for it were done in September/October 2016.

The drama I really enjoyed was "G Senjou no Anata to Watashi" which aired at the end of 2019 but didn't recap it until the beginning of this year. As you can tell by the screenshots it's a musical series, Haru had the lead role of Yaeko who was 27 in age. She had just got dumped by her boyfriend and on that same day had quit her office job, certainly not an uplifting day for Yaeko. But she heard a solo violin concert later on that day at a mall and decided to begin lessons, two others did too and they became a team of rookie players. Of course so much more took place, wish there was more violin playing but all in all that was one fine drama.

In that show Haru wore glasses and she's one of those women who are more attractive wearing them. She has the lead role in most of her dramas and that'll be the case for her new series "Night Doctor" that begins on June 21st.

After those inane rom-com dramas my least liked ones are doctor/hospital shows. Not all have been bad though and "Night Doctor" actually looks like an interesting one and will try out the first few shows. These are new interview pics from the Crank site for the drama.

Haru used to be a model for the Seventeen and Non-no magazines but hasn't worked with them for many years now. She also used to appear in many mags but has really slowed down on them since 2017, as mentioned she does tend to shy away from the limelight. Have a new spread from the June 8th issue of SPA! yet she only had one page?!

So let's go back to 2020 for a pair of spreads, top four are from the April edition of Mac Fan while the others are from the December issue of Oggi.

Why not one more oldie spread and Haru has appeared quite often in Tokyo Walker Plus, she was the cover girl for their April 13, 2017 issue.

Will be ending off with this batch of pics which are from an event that took place on May 31st. That was the first ever 'No Smoke World Day/Week' and Haru was appointed as the ambassador for a non-smoking campaign for the Japanese government. Plenty of fine looking pics from the event followed by a short video from it.
